E-flite Editorial Review

The E Flite Turbo Timber 1.5m - BNF Basic (EFL15250) has garnered a warm reception among customers, particularly appealing to both returning enthusiasts and new pilots. Users appreciate its versatile flight characteristics, which make it suitable for a variety of flying styles. Many have noted its forgiving nature, allowing them to relearn flying techniques after time away from the hobby. With the capability for mild aerobatics, it keeps interest alive without being overwhelming. While the plane can perform adequately with a 3s battery, users highly recommend upgrading to a 4s battery for optimum performance, especially for achieving impressive vertical climbs. Its three-blade propeller has generated mixed feedback; while it performs well, its vulnerability to damage during rough landings has led many to suggest replacing it with a more robust standard prop. The landing gear is a common point of criticism, as several users experienced breakage from hard landings or rough conditions. Many have found ways to reinforce the gear, but this aspect may deter some beginner pilots who may struggle with landings. Additionally, users have pointed out the design of the battery compartment as cramped and less than ideal, with some recommending modifications for better usability. On the positive side, the plane excels in performance, stability, and ease of use in calmer flights, especially in SAFE mode, making it a potential choice for beginners with prior simulator training. While it is not strictly a trainer aircraft due to its occasional twitchiness at higher speeds, it still provides a fun and engaging experience for intermediate pilots who wish to further hone their skills. Overall, customers are enthusiastic about the E Flite Turbo Timber for its balanced performance and the potential for enjoyable flights, though they do recommend some essential mods to enhance durability and ease of use. **
