- Türkiye'deki mimarlık eğitiminin temel kitaplarından olan Mimarlıkta Teknik Resim, geliştirilip zenginleştirilen içeriğiyle, sayfa sayısı yaklaşık yüzde 40 artarak tam 524 sayfa oldu. Mimar-öğretim üyeleri Orhan Şahinler ile Fehmi Kızıl'ın geniş bilgi, deneyim ve birikimlerine dayalı çalışmalarından yola çıkarak hazırladıkları, Türkiye'deki mimarlık eğitiminin temel kitaplarından olan Mimarlıkta Teknik Resim, mimarlık eğitiminin yanı sıra meslek etkinlikleri için de bir ders ve başvuru kaynağı niteliği taşıyor. Yalnızca teknik resme ilişkin bilgileri doğrudan aktarmakla yetinmeyen kitap, teknik resmi mimarlığın proje düzenleme bilgileri, yapı bilgisi, detaylar, perspektif türleri, şantiye bilgileri, proje örnekleri, çizim örnekleri gibi alt dallarına ilişkin bilgilerle destekleyip somutlaştırarak öğretiyor. Yazarların üzerinde uzun süre çalışılarak hazırladıkları Mimarlıkta Teknik Resim'in güncellenmiş ve geliştirilmiş yeni baskısında, eşlenik dik izdüşüm, algılama, kavrama, bina kesiti ve mimari anlatım dili alanında yeni konular eklendi. Eklenen ve güncellenen konular perspektif anlatım ve açıklayıcı bilgi notları olan çizimlerle daha kolay kavranır hale getirildi, konulara ilişkin çizimlerden birçoğu eğitimde denenip görülen eksiklikleri giderilerek olgunlaştırıldı. Özel konumlu düzlemler, üç temel izdüşümünden objenin kavranması ve gerçek büyüklüğünün bulunması, grafik anlatım ve algılamadaki önemi, ölçekli çizim, 1/200 ölçekli yerleşme planı ve kesiti, 1/200 ve 1/100 ölçekli plan, kesit ve görünüşleriyle fikir ve kesin proje örnekleri, plankotede verilen kotlardan yararlanarak arazinin eşyükseklik çizgilerinin elde edilmesi, eğik düzlemli çatılarda çatı düzlemlerinin arakesitinin ve gerçek büyüklüğünün bulunması, makine teknik resimlerinde boyutlandırma konuları eklendi. Kitapta yer alan teknik resimin tanımı ve tarihi gelişimi, teknik resim çiziminde kullanılan gereçler, çizim hazırlıkları ve çizim, geometrik çizimler, resim yöntemleri, kesit türleri, boyutlandırma, merdiven plan ve kesiti, küpeşte görünüşünün çizimi, merdiven basamağı dengelenmesi, plandaki verilerden yararlanarak kesit çizmeden görünüş elde etmek, eşlenik dik izdüşümde gölge ve paralel izdüşümle (aksonometrik) perspektif konuları da zenginleştirildi.
