Directed Remote Controls 485M Editorial Review
**Editorial Review** The replacement remote control for older car alarms, such as the Viper 500 HF Code Plus, has garnered mixed reviews from users who appreciate its affordability, good range, and solid build. Many customers report that the remote functions effectively, allowing them to unlock or start their vehicles from a Considerable distance—often around 200 feet outdoors, although indoor use can vary significantly depending on Construction materials. Users praised the low price, which is often significantly lower than that offered by local retailers. The inclusion of batteries with the remotes is also a positive highlight, ensuring immediate usability upon receipt. However, the programming process of the remote has proven to be a common stumbling block. Users warn that the absence of clear instructions can lead to frustration, with some needing to seek professional help to navigate the programming steps. It’s important to note that while the remote is designed to be compatible with certain older systems, users should confirm the specific model's compatibility before purchasing. Overall, this OEM replacement remote provides a cost-effective solution for those needing a spare or replacement, but potential buyers should be prepared for a challenging programming experience and possibly seek assistance if they are not technically inclined. **
