Danville Fly Tying Materials Editorial Review
Danville Monofilament Thread in fine is a popular choice for tying small and delicate fly patterns. It is a thin and strong thread that is easy to work with and does not add bulk to the fly. The thread's diameter is .006, and it is a single spool per item. Danville also makes an extra fine .004. The thread has been tested and is estimated to have a 1-2 lb test line. Customers have reported positive experiences using this product in a variety of fly patterns, including Shminnow, gurglers, foam poppers, and saltwater fly patterns. The thread works well with dubbing and can be used to create small fly heads. When finished with super glue, the thread forms a strong bond that is difficult to break. The thread is also almost invisible when coated with UV resin. While the product is generally well-liked, some customers report that it is expensive.
