What types of weeds does GORDON'S Trimec Ready Spray Lawn Weed Killer target?

GORDON'S Trimec Ready Spray Lawn Weed Killer effectively targets a wide variety of broadleaf weeds including dandelions, chickweeds, and clover. This product is specially formulated to tackle common lawn pests without harming desirable grass types. By focusing on broadleaf weeds, it helps maintain the health and appearance of your lawn, making it particularly useful during the growing season when weeds can compete with grass for nutrients.

Is GORDON’S Trimec Safe to Apply on All Types of Grass?

Yes, GORDON'S Trimec is designed to be safe for use on most common grass types, including Kentucky bluegrass, fescue, and ryegrass. However, it is crucial to follow label instructions carefully for optimal results. Applying it at the right time, typically in spring or fall, enhances its effectiveness while safeguarding your lawn from potential damage.

How long does it take for GORDON’S Trimec Ready Spray to start working?

GORDON’S Trimec Ready Spray begins to show visible results within 1 to 2 weeks after application, depending on the type of weed and environmental conditions. This waiting period allows the active ingredients to penetrate the weeds effectively. For best results, apply when weeds are actively growing and avoid mowing your lawn for at least 48 hours post-application to maximize absorption.

Can GORDON'S Trimec be used during hot weather?

While GORDON'S Trimec can be applied in warm weather, it's best to avoid extremely hot days. High temperatures can stress the grass and potentially lead to unwanted effects. Ideally, application should be done in the morning or late afternoon when temperatures are cooler, ensuring both the product and the lawn remain in optimal conditions.

How often should I reapply GORDON'S Trimec Ready Spray?

Reapplication depends on the weed pressure and the level of control achieved after the initial treatment. Typically, if weeds persist, a second application can be made after 4 to 6 weeks. Always check the lawn condition and follow the product's instructions for timings to ensure effective control and minimize any potential harm to your grass.

Can I use GORDON'S Trimec on my vegetable garden?

No, GORDON'S Trimec is not recommended for use in vegetable gardens or flower beds. It is formulated for lawn use only and can harm other plants. For controlling weeds in gardens, consider using alternative products that are specifically designed for safe usage around edible plants.

What precautions should I take when using GORDON'S Trimec Ready Spray?

When using GORDON'S Trimec, wear protective clothing such as gloves and long sleeves, and avoid contact with skin and eyes. It is advisable to cover nearby plants that you do not wish to treat, and to apply on calm days to prevent drift. By taking these precautions, you can ensure your safety and protect the surrounding environment while effectively tackling weeds.

How do I store GORDON'S Trimec after opening?

Once opened, GORDON'S Trimec should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children and pets. Proper storage ensures the product maintains its efficacy for future use. Always check the container for specific storage instructions, as adhering to these guidelines will prolong the shelf-life of the weed killer.

Does GORDON'S Trimec kill grass?

No, GORDON'S Trimec is specifically formulated to target broadleaf weeds while being safe for use on most turf grasses. Its selective nature ensures that your grass will remain unharmed while effectively controlling unwanted weeds. This selective killing property is particularly beneficial in maintaining the overall health and aesthetics of your lawn.
