Poetry Editorial Review
**** AF King's "Clock Counting: Poems" has emerged as a compelling collection that encapsulates the poet's raw energy and diverse explorations into the realms of time, love, and human connection. This work oscillates between deeply introspective moments and intellectual musings, making it appealing to fans of modern poetry. The collection unfolds through three distinct sections, each portraying different emotional landscapes and reflections, showcasing King’s ability to intertwine personal experiences with broader concepts such as science and mathematics. While some readers appreciate the unique format and internal rhythms that breathe life into the poetry, others have expressed concern about certain poems feeling overly abstract or challenging to comprehend. Nonetheless, the collection features a blend of uplifting and melancholic tones, where many poems evoke profound truths and resonate deeply with readers. Varying themes—including friendships, scientific wonder, and reflective contemplation—combine, resulting in pieces that spark thought and elicit emotion. Despite some critical viewpoints regarding the accessibility of certain pieces, the book maintains a sense of creativity and freedom in its presentation. King's innovative use of spacing and formatting invites readers to engage with the poetry in a conversational manner. Ultimately, "Clock Counting" serves as both an intimate portrayal of personal narrative and a broader meditation on the nature of human existence. For those who appreciate introspective literature, this book offers a thought-provoking experience that is worth delving into. **
