Scott Westerfeld All Books Editorial Review
**** The reissue of "Uglies" has captured the attention of both new readers and fans of young adult literature alike. Many customers are praising the book for its quality and visually appealing cover, enhancing the reading experience right from the first glance. Reviewers highlight that while the book is marketed towards a younger audience, it maintains a level of appropriateness that resonates well across age groups, even for those in their late teens and beyond. Readers have noted that the book shares a similar writing style to popular works like "The Hunger Games," characterized by its accessibility and straightforward Prose. This simplicity in writing allows readers to lose themselves in the story without feeling weighed down by complexity. While one reviewer expressed a desire for more background information about the dystopian society depicted, they ultimately found themselves engrossed in the unfolding narrative, invested in the characters’ journeys by the book's conclusion. This emotional engagement is evident as readers expressed eagerness to continue with the next installments in the series. The themes explored—particularly society’s obsession with appearance—resonate on multiple levels, making "Uglies" not just a captivating read, but a reflective one as well. Overall, the sentiment surrounding the reissue of "Uglies" is overwhelmingly positive, reaffirming its status as a significant piece in young adult literature. **
