Stokes Select Feeders 11-SQU-X-1 Editorial Review
The Squirrel X-1 Squirrel Proof Feeder has received a mix of praise and criticisms from users, demonstrating both its strengths and weaknesses in the field of bird feeding. Many reviewers highlight its effectiveness in attracting a variety of birds, including finches, woodpeckers, and cardinals, thanks to its generous four-pound capacity and multiple compartments for different seeds. The feeder’s durability is often mentioned, with users appreciating its robust Construction, although some have reported issues with specific components, like the plastic tabs and hanging wire, that can be susceptible to damage, particularly from squirrels. While several customers have reported success in keeping squirrels at bay, others have noted that it’s not entirely squirrel-proof without additional modifications. Creative users have crafted their solutions, like using chicken wire or experimenting with different setups to enhance squirrel resistance. This suggests that while the feeder has a solid design and functionality, some users may need to undertake additional measures to fully realize its potential. Cleaning the feeder seems to be a common concern, with mixed feedback regarding how user-friendly it is. Despite this, many users recommend the Squirrel X-1 for its ability to attract birds and its overall sturdy build, although Prospective buyers might want to Consider their own strategies for deterring squirrels. **
